DISTRICT 9 4-H LEADERSHIP LAB

For the summer of 2001 4-Hers traveled to Brownwood for yet another exciting camp experience!

The 2000 District Leadership Lab: We went to the State 4-H Center in Brownwood, TX for this event. Topics of the Leadership Lab included: Interactive Media, Creative Leadership, Crafts, Horticulture, Wildlife Studies, Foods & Nutrition. Follow this next link for an overview of the presentation on utilizing Interactive Media in your presentations and publications. This is good basic stuff useful for any Leadership, Public Speaking, Method Demonstration or Technology project.

See the Slide Show from the 1999 4-H Leadership Lab (at the bottom of the table of contents page click the auto run option - each slide will run for 10 seconds)

Membership information regarding youth participation in the Walker County 4-H program. Note** For the 2001-2002 4-H year, the Walker County 4-H Program will be charging a fee of $8.00 per member. This fee will be used to cover basic insurance and the cost of printing and mailing the 4-H Newsletter. This is the first year for our program to have a membership fee. Ethics Concerns: This is an area which we take very seriously. Ethics is something which everybody is responsible for. It is your responsibility to be aware of what is acceptable and what is not acceptable when purchasing, raising, and exhibiting your project. You need to begin researching this subject by becoming familiar with the rules of the fair or exhibition you will be participating in. Additional information is contained in the links below.

Livestock Show Ethics (Slide Show)

One of the areas of concern within the subject of livestock project ethics is the potential misuse of drugs. The Extension Service has a publication which addresses this issue - Use of Preventative & Therapeutic Drugs in Market Show Animals
