Walker County Texas - Aquatic Weeds
Pond & Lake Weeds
Control of aquatic weeds ALWAYS begins with Identification: Weed control options must be weighed by their impact on the aquatic environment, the weed to be treated, cost, use of the water, and any restrictions which may apply. Walker County residents or landowners can contact the Walker County Extension Office for a list of biological, mechanical or chemical control options for your pond or lake. *Improper use of control products may create problems for fish populations, this can be a serious problem during extended periods of hot weather when water temperatures are high and water oxygen levels are low. **ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURES LABEL ON ANY CHEMICAL WEED CONTROL PRODUCT (PESTICIDE).
